Tuition payment is due by the 5th of each month and will be subject to a $25.00 late fee if received after the 10th of the month.  Payment may be made by cash, check, and Visa, Master Card or Discover .

There is a $25.00 non - refundable registration fee due by the first class.  Maximum fee of $35.00 per family.

A costume deposit of $65.00 will be due by October 15th with final payment due by November 15th.  Costumes will not be ordered without full payment.

A production fee of $60.00 ($85.00 per family) will be due by February 1st.  A late fee of $25.00 will be added after February 1st.

There will be a $35.00 charge for any returned check.

Students with outstanding account balances past 30 days will not be allowed to participate in class until outstanding balance is paid in full.

There are NO REFUNDS for voluntary withdrawal for the school or for missed classes.  A currently enrolled student may make up any missed classes.  However, if payments for continued instruction are not received by the due date, missed classes are forfeited.  There will be NO CARRYOVERS into the following session.

Credit will be applied to a student’s account for prolonged illness or severe injury beginning the day the office is notified.

A & B Dance Center reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment.  Tuition will be refunded.

In case of inclement weather, A & B Dance Center will cancel classes whenever Springfield Public Schools cancel classes.  If weather conditions are questionable, information will be left on the studio answering machine regarding class cancellations.


    All students are asked to enroll for the full academic year.  Regular and consistent attendance is extremely important.  This commitment is necessary to maximize the full benefit of dance instruction for every student in class.  We encourage parents to stress the importance of not missing classes unless there is a real emergency or illness. If a student must miss class, the office should be notified prior to class time.   Students should arrive 5 minutes early to prepare for class.  Please wait in the lobby area until an instructor invites you into the studio.  Any student missing  more than 5 classes per semester, without special arrangements, will not be eligible to participate in that semester’s recital.

Class Etiquette:

    No street shoes on dance floor.  Please use the cubbies in the waiting area for shoe storage. 

    Students should receive permission from the instructor before entering or leaving class.


    Proper dress code will be enforced.  Pleas see list below for details.


    NO running in studio.

    NO hanging on barres.

    NO gum or candy allowed on the dance floor.

    NO drinks allowed on the dance floor.  Bottled water is available for purchase or students may provide    

their own. 

    Restroom breaks should occur before or after class.  Please do not disrupt class to use the studio restroom.  There is a public restroom located in the main mall area.  If after 7:00 pm please ask the adult at the office desk for a key.  

    No talking, horseplay, or other disruptive activity during class. Students are expected to treat each other, the staff and the faculty with the utmost respect, using appropriate language and good manners.  Students who do not adhere to this request may be asked to sit out of class.  Continued disruptive behavior could result in probation/suspension from class. Parent will be notified if behavior is an issue prior to probation or suspension.

    Students are not to leave the building alone.  If a student must wait for a ride after class, they are to wait in the lobby area and notify the instructor when the are leaving.

Dress Code:


            Women and girls:

   Ballet: Black leotard, pink  or tan tights, (convertible suggested), Pink bloch split sole leather ballet shoes.  Dance skirts, boy shorts, or soffes are permitted, however students may be asked to remove them so the instructor can check line and body placement.  Pointe shoes must be professionally fitted. Instructor approval of shoe fit required before wearing or sewing on ribbon or elastic. 

    Tap - Beg and Intermediate Levels: Black leotard or close fitting shirt, shorts, or capris. (no jazz pants long enough to catch under taps), tan character shoes with 2” inch heels for tap c and above, tan ties or mary jane style for beginning tap and lower level.

    Advanced Tap Level 5 and Adult tap: Black split -sole Sansha tap shoes recommended.

    Jazz: Black leotard or close fitting shirt, shorts, capris, or jazz pants, lights colored tights, caramel capzio jazz shoes

    Lyrical / Modern / Contemporary: Black leotard, light colored convertible or footless tights, capezio footundeez shoes.  Dance skirts, boy shorts, or soffes are permitted, however students may be asked to remove them so the instructor can check line and body placement.

    Hip Hop: Any color leotard or close fitting shirt, shorts, capris, or jazz pants, black dance sneaker. Knee pads are suggested for floor work.  NO STREET SHOES! NO BLUE JEANS!!

            Men and boys:

    Easy to move in shorts or jazz pants and close fitting t-shirt. Please ask instructor about shoe style/ preference.

Hair must be pulled securely away from face, in a bun or secure against the head. Please remove jewelry before class and leave valuables at home. ALL CELL PHONES must be turned off during class. This rule will be strictly enforced!!
